Eva Alexander’s Tips on Finding the Best Maternity Dress for Every Figure

Maternity wear today is attractive, sexy, comfortable and stylish. It's designed to compliment a woman's changing body and make her look and feel great throughout the nine months of pregnancy. One must have essential during this time is a good maternity dress. Finding a stylish maternity dress is not only about fashion, it also requires an understanding of a woman's figure, the styles and designs that complement her body type, and a good knowledge of fabrics that are soft, comfortable, and durable. Regardless of whether a woman is short, tall, extra curvy or slightly built, there are a variety of maternity dresses to choose from that will look great on each and every shape.

Understanding body shape is the first and most essential rule for dressing fashionably. As Coco Chanel once said, "Fashion is architecture: it is a matter of proportions."

Short Women – Short women look best in streamlined tailored clothing. Consider dresses that are all one colour paired with heels, a look that will add inches to a small frame. Dresses with an empire waist are a great look too because it creates the illusion of longer legs. If prints are in season, look for smaller prints, delicate details, and subtle embellishments. Avoid large prints, floaty fabrics and tent dresses that will overwhelm a small frame. Colour blocking typically doesn't work well because it visually "chops you up" and makes a woman look shorter than she is. Any colour blocking that is done should be about accenting a base colour rather than breaking up a silhouette into large blocks of colour.

Full Figured Women – For women who are size 18 and over, there are now even more maternity wear choices than ever before. An important point to remember is that clothes should outline a woman's body, accentuate cleavage and complement the waist. Choose maternity dresses that have a lot of movement and divert attention from the thighs, hips and tummy. Wrap dresses are ideal because they skim the waist, enhance cleavage and hide a multitude of sins. Look for darker colours that will also create a sliming silhouette.

Pear Shaped Women – The classic pear shaped woman has rounded hips and thighs that are slightly wider than her shoulders. The best looks on a pear shaped woman are styles that have a shapely waist, balance the upper body and draw the eye to the shoulders and arms. Look for empire waist dresses because they focus the eyes to the narrowest part of the body. Dresses with fitted tops and A-line skirts are also a great style. Avoid mini-skirts or baggy clothes, both will draw attention to hips and thighs.

Apple Shaped Women - The classic apple shaped woman has a large bust, narrow hips and slim legs. Body conscious dressing for apple shaped woman is about accentuating the cleavage and legs. Look for open or scoop necks that expand the chest area and make a woman look more in proportion. Solid colour, crossover, and wrap dresses are also ideal. Avoid horizontal stripes, large prints, dresses that are too baggy and ruching at the shoulders.

How to Make Good Choices When Buying a Maternity Dress

Choose maternity clothes that accentuate a woman's best assets. Focus on fabrics that are fluid and drape well. A bump-flattering wrap dress may look great on the hanger, but if the fabric is clingy, itchy or is prone to static and sticks to your undergarments, it will end-up in the back of the closet never to be worn again.

Pick brands wisely. A cheap dress is great for a week on the beach, but after a few washes the fabric pills, the colour fades, and the fit and shape of the dress have deteriorated. In difficult economic times value for money is important and fashion is more about fewer quality pieces that will continue to flatter a woman's shape and look great regardless of how many times it's washed and worn. When buying women's jackets designer maternity wear, make sure it is quality and good value for money.

Don't confuse Fad with Fashion. Current fads often don't translate well into maternity wear. Choose colours that complement your skin tone and hair colouring. Dress to complement your shape by picking styles that are simple but classic and cut to accentuate your assets.

Maternity clothes must be adjustable. Women who are going through pregnancy the first time around are often surprised. Only in the second trimester, have a few pieces have been purchased. The third trimester is when a woman really begins to grow and if the first few maternity wear choices weren't well made, she'll be out shopping once again. Look for maternity wrap dresses which are always very flexible or maternity dresses with ruching, layering, or pleating in the front. These types of styles should see any woman through her pregnancy and beyond.

Following these guidelines will make every woman look fantastic during her pregnancy!

Third Motocross Rider Teams Up With Everyday Noble Clothing

As the sport of Motocross continues to reach new peaks of popularity, Everyday Noble Clothing is wasting no time growing its racing team to compete, adding a third rider this month in Foristell, Missouri native Kyle Hussey.

A pro from the age of 16, Hussey has been honing his skills since he was four years old. And now, some 15 years later, he's excited to be joining a local team on the rise. "It's pretty cool to be a part of a group that's like family," says Hussey. "I'm excited to grow with Everyday Noble Clothing as my career progresses, and now I can even up my class a bit with one of their v-necks."

For Everyday Noble Clothing, Founder Josh Reed knew the caliber of rider his team was getting in Hussey. In recent years, Hussey has raced in the AMA Super Cross, Arena Cross, Outdoor Nationals and the Missouri State MX Series. But more than his obvious racing acumen, Reed was thrilled that yet another local rider decided to keep his talents in-state and represent Kansas City-based Everyday Noble Clothing in events throughout the country. "If you follow Motocross at all in this region, you've heard of Kyle Hussey," says Reed. "His skills on the track speak for themselves.

"But it's his passion for the sport and his desire to ride for a local team that made this a perfect fit for us."

Behind the Everyday Noble Clothing Motocross Team is a streetwear brand that includes hoodies, snapbacks, tees and more. A quick glance at their website provides a glimpse into Reed's vision, and perhaps an entire generation's vision, for how we are to live each day. It's for these enterprising individuals, for those like Hussey that never stop pursuing what they love, that Reed has crafted his line.

"The Everyday Noble Clothing brand is about having the courage to start something fresh and new, something that changes the game entirely," says Reed. "But you can't go very far or achieve very much without staying true to your roots.

"Kyle is the perfect example of that. Here's this rider that has the whole Motocross world at his feet, and yet he chose to start the journey right here in Kansas City."

For Reed, Hussey and the rest of the Everyday Noble Clothing Motocross Team, there truly is no place like home.

Japanese Influence on American Quilting Strengthening

The American Quilter's Society presents a new exhibition, "Japanese Color and Form: New Works by Fifty Japanese Artists" at its fifth annual AQS Quilt Show & Contest in Des Moines, Iowa, October 3rd – 6th, 2012. Curated by Kokusai Art of Yokohama, Japan, this exhibit's works shine a light on the influence of Japanese artistry into modern quilting techniques.

While many of the fifty works in this exhibition are demonstrative of Japanese artistry, two uniquely Japanese elements feature strongly in the works.

Instantly recognizable as originating in Japan, the kimono has influenced fiber artists in ways well beyond traditional clothing. Miyako Suwa of Osaka, Japan, created h women's coats online er quilt, ONE LAST PRESENT using fabric from her mother's kimonos. Miyako's quilt features intricate hand embroidery and featherstitching, all as a tribute to her mother who passed away recently. Commenting on this piece, a viewer in Michigan noted, "It's such a beautiful tribute to her late mother."

This exhibit includes several pieces with fine examples of sashiko. This stitching style originated in Japan and permeates many Asian-inspired designs. Usually sashiko stitches appear in light or white thread against a darker background fabric. The unique stitch patterns create a stark contrast with traditional American running stitches.

Rei Saito of Tokyo, Japan, created JAPANESE SASHIKO MOTIFS, which serves as a study in many of the traditional sashiko patterns. Rei Saito reported, "Sashiko began more than 200 years ago. Women did sashiko for each season."

Whether through traditional Japanese techniques and materials or innovative new designs, the quilts coming from Japan are influencing American quilting. The American Quilter's Society is presenting this exhibit with Kokusai Art to promote the charms of Japanese quilts to a broader audience in America. AQS hopes viewers will gain an appreciation for the Japanese influence on the art of quiltmaking.

Entry to the exhibit is free with show admission to the AQS Quilt Show in Des Moines, Iowa. The show is open to the public October 3rd through 6th, 2012. Tickets start at $11, with AQS member and multi-day discounts available.

Brest, Brittany- What To Do And See In Brest In The Brest Holiday Travel Guide

The city of Brest is located in a natural harbour in the Finistère départment of Brittany. It is close to the Breton Peninsular's western tip. The city suffered extensive bombing during the Second World War and the efforts to rebuild it since give Brest a feeling of vibrancy and freshness, particularly since the de-industrialisation that has taken place since the turn of the millennium. Brest is very much a university city and is home to the exclusive French Naval Academy, l'Ecole Navale not to be confused with the equally prestigious Académie de Marine or Naval Academy which was founded in 1752.

Perhaps the most impressive of the newly built structures within the city is the Pont de l'Iroise bridge that spans the river Elorn. This cable-stayed bridge, opened in 1994, is a marvel of architecture and engineering and, truly, a thing of beauty. Cyclists and pedestrians can take in the bridge from the dedicated Albert Louppe bridge where one can drink in views from across the harbour.

Brest lies on a still viable commercial port. The city has always been strategically important and as a military port, Brest is second only to Toulon in France in this regard. A walk along the Quai Commandant-Malbert will give you a sense of what life is like for those whose livings very much depend on this port thriving as well as a taste of the city's history. Watch the brightly coloured buoys of Finistere's Lighthouses and Beacons department - they number in the hundreds - as they bob up and down on the water.

The arsenal of Brest is world famous. This array of military and naval buildings, jetties and locks and basins began taking shape on the banks of the Penfeld around 1631. Construction of the submarine base started in 1940 by the German forces occupying the area. Allied attempts to destroy the base resulted in the destruction of most of Brest's historic buildings.

Though Brest has been extensively rebuilt, the castle at the mouth of the river Penfeld is still very much the heart of Brest. With a history dating back more than seventeen hundred years, it is the world's oldest castle that is still in use.

Beaches
The beach at Brest is rocky and lies just a few minutes away from the castle ruins at Camaret Sur Mer.

Churches and Religious Buildings
Saint-Louis church suffered extensive damage in the bombing of the Second World War. The church, rebuilt between 1953 and 1958, is worth a visit to admire its beautiful stained glass windows.

Built in 1750, Saint-Sauveur church, located in Recouvrance, is the oldest in B women's jackets rest.

Historic Buildings
The castle was once the centre of all life and activity in the city of Brest. Touring this, the oldest of Brest's monuments, one can see how the castle has been extended and redeveloped to ward off attacks with increasingly advanced weaponry and strategies over the seventeen centuries of its existence. Highlights include the Roman era keep, the thirteenth century towers of Azenor and César and the far more modern barracks constructed in 1894. The Maritime museum of Brest is housed in the city's castle.

The Maison de la Fontaine in Recouvrance, dates from the late seventeenth century and is one of Brest's oldest houses. The Tour Rose (Pink Tower) on rue Denver was built in commemoration of the supply convoys of the United States Navy during 1917 and 1918. It is also known as the Monument Americain. Pont de Recouvrance is a breathtaking sixty four metre (two hundred and ten feet) high drawbridge.

Beauty On A Budget

A well groomed gal is always a head-turner anywhere in an office, at a party, on the streets. She does not have be drop-dead-stunning or be clad in designer outfits to have the look.

A chic woman is able to radiate her own personality by the way she dresses and colors she wears. Best of all, all this can be achieved on a reasonable budget.

Here are a few tips from real-life divas, all home makers by choice. Their hints and guidelines on good grooming could very well be of assistance to those apprehensive readers who wonder about the costs involved in good-looking.

Beauty, they say, lies in the eyes of the beholder. However, you will have to work at looking great and remaining beautiful forever. Here we have compiled a couple of beauty tips which, we are sure, will help you achieve a smooth and glowing skin and hair and look young and beautiful forever.

Natural cures, homemade products and home remedies

1. Prepare a lotion of 2 teaspoons lemon juice, 1 tsp glycerin, 3 tsp rose water. Mix and apply this lotion all over the body and let it remain for 15 to 20 minutes, then wash with lukewarm water.

2. Make a paste of 1 tsp lemon juice, cup yogurt and 1 tsp orange juice. Apply this on your face and neck and let it remain for 15 to 20 minutes, then wash with lukewarm water.

3. Mask for dry skin. It is known to work wonders. Beat 1 egg and frothy, add 1 tsp honey, 1 tsp glycerin, 1 tsp mineral oil. Apply the mask on your face and other dry areas of the body. Keep it for 15 to 20 minutes, then wash with lukewarm water.

4. Protein pack for your face. Soak 1 tsp black gram dal and 4 almonds in water overnight. Grind them to a paste in the morning and apply this mask to your face. Wash it off after around half an hour.

5. Face mask Mix 2 teaspoons rice powder with 4 tsp teaspoons water and 1 teaspoon honey. Apply this pack to the face then wash it off after half an hour with tepid water.

Natural, homemade beauty hair products

A lot of young ladies struggle with their hair. However, there is good news some beauty recipes can help you restore and rejuvenate your hair leaving it softer and shinier than ever.

In case you swim in chlorinated water on a regular basis, the same damage you've noticed happening to your skin and bathing suit, is happening to your hair too.

1. Mix 1 tablespoon honey and any vegetable oil. Spread the mixture evenly inside and all over your hair.

2. Coat your hair with mayonnaise. Once you are done cover your head with a plastic bag and leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes.

3. Apply olive oil all over your hair and cover it with a plastic shower cap and let it remain for around 20 minutes. For extra conditioning have a warm shower while you wait; the heat will help the oil work to its maximum potential.

4. Beat 1 egg, add 3 tablespoons of water and apply the mixture to your scalp and hair.

5. Mix 1/2 cup honey and 3 tablespoons olive oil. Work a small amount at a time through hair until coated. Cover hair with a shower cap; leave on 30 minutes. Shampoo well and rinse.

6. Beat 1 egg white until it is foamy, then add to 6 tablespoons natural yogurt and apply the mixture to your hair in small portions at a time. Leave it on for around15 minutes and then rinse.

7. Mix 2 whole eggs with 4 tbsps olive oil. Smooth tit through your hair, wrap your head in a plastic wrap, and leave it on around for 10 minutes, then rinse well.

This applies to all the above solutions: Once you are done waiting for the natural ingredients to work their magic wash, rinse, and style your hair as usual.

Beauty hair styles

You might not be able to visit an expensive salon. Then again you could always take advantage of these styling tips.

1. To create Soft Waves, blow dry your hair straight. Spray bottled water on your hair with a pressurized spray bottle and let your hair dry naturally. See the wavy look you get.

You Won't Believe Your Eyes: Acuvue Oasys Contact Lenses

Many people have stopped wearing contacts because of painful and dry eyes. After using moistening drops and artificial tears without relief, they have decided the convenience i fashion jackets s not worth the suffering. Those currently wearing lenses who have experienced corneal abrasions and chronic dry eyes are thinking about giving up and returning to glasses. But now, with the new technologies of Acuvue Oasys contact lenses, people can wear them with ease, comfort, and without irritation.

Eyes Need to Stay Moist

The human eye has a complicated mechanism to maintain vision and comfort. Tears coat the cornea continuously with water and lubricating oils. The eyelid slides effortlessly over the sclera, the white part of the eye, without friction or pain. Tears also provide a layer of film on the surface of the eye to support antibodies to fight infection. Adding artificial tears and lubricants dilutes or washes away the natural protection of the film.

Old Technology

Certain contacts interfere with the eye's natural moisture and lubrication causing the cornea to become dry, red with irritation, and experience vision distortion. The lack of moisture causes corneal abrasions when the lid moves over the cornea, and rubs the contact across the surface. The eye also needs oxygen to breathe and stay healthy. Those with old technology are too thick and block oxygen from the eye, causing pain, eyestrain, and swelling.

Advances in Lens Technology

Acuvue Oasys contact lenses have a silicon hydrogel material that stays moistened and does not interfere with the normal process of the tear ducts. It permits the natural tears to lubricate and moisten the surface. With the high oxygen transmitting lens material, oxygen passes freely to the cornea, maintaining a natural environment for a healthy eye.

Oasys lenses also protect your eyes from the sun's ultraviolet (UV) rays more effectively than any other. UV can damage the delicate tissues of the eyes, and eventually lead to vision loss later in life. Research suggests people who spend more time in the sun experience a higher incidence of eye disease than those who do not. Studies have shown UV rays can cause cataracts, macular degeneration, and certain cancers.

Many people with impaired vision complain they are unable to see and handle their clear contacts in the lens container. Difficulty inserting and handling the contact has been a deciding factor for many people not to wear them. With the state-of-the-art silicon hydrogel, the lenses are given a slight tint of blue for easy identification on application and cleansing. The tint will not change the color or appearance of the eyes. The lens is also marked, clearly, to distinguish if they are inside out or upside down.

The number one reason people stop wearing contacts is dry eye syndrome. The tear ducts do not supply enough tears and oils to the surface of the eye, and the contacts dry the eyes even further. Applying artificial solutions do not effectively supply the lubricating oils, and the eyes become inflamed and susceptible to infection. People who don't want to return to glasses can work with physicians to use the newest advancement known as Hydraclear Comfort Technology which uses moisturized and breathable lenses.

The new technology for contact lenses has changed a lot in the last few years.Recently advanced knowledge of new materials and hydrogels allow people to experience wearing comfortable and painless contact lenses. Lenses protect your vision from sun damage, and allow you the freedom from the inconvenience of glasses. Older technology doesn't support eye health and vision as well as new advancements in lenses. New technology contacts are made with material that is breathable and keeps eyes healthy. With older technology, contacts were uncomfortable and caused irritation, pain, and corneal abrasions. Handling and applying lenses is now easier than ever.

How Modern Sporting Venues Transform Communities

Sports stadiums, halls and venues have gone through a transformation in recent years. A combination of age, new legislation and changing fashions and trends has led to the redevelopment or even rebuilding of many venues across the country which in turn has open up a world of possibilities to people and areas that wouldn't have had such opportunities before. The latest project is the series of venues that are being developed at Strattford City in London for the 2012 Olympic Games.

They will undoubtedly play a major part in the way the games are perceived and the success of the project will have a bearing on the success of the game but they are also bringing much needed investment to the area and rejuvenating the community. It is hoped that after the games this will continue to be the case with the facilities being used by local people. It's an idea that has become fundamental to the building of new venues and sporting facilities of this size and has already benefitted several areas in the UK.

The City of Manchester Stadium - As part of Manchester's bid to host the 2000 Summer Olympics plans were unveiled by the council to build a new 80,000 capacity stadium. Although the bid failed the plan was altered and led to the successful bid for the 2002 Commonwealth Games. In terms of new venues the City of Manchester Stadium boasted a wealth of facilities as it had to accommodate so many people attending so many different events.

The Eastlands area where it was built was in need of investment at the time of the proposals and has subsequently benefitted from having the stadium and all the business it attracted and continues to attract. The whole project is estimated to have cost over one hundred million pounds making it one of the most expensive venues in the country.

Today the stadium is home to Manchester City Football Club and after some renovation and additional funds it has become not just one of the finest venues in the north of England but one of the finest venues in the UK. It is now a popular conference venue and regularly stages concerts, most notably a recent 'homecoming' gig by rock group Oasis.

The Ricoh Arena - Highfield Road football ground, home to Coventry City Football Club, was typical of many football venues in the UK during the last century. It was built at a time when building regulations, safety standards and visitor expectations were significantly different and looked like a relic from another era. It was also situated in the middle of a built up residential area with limited transport links and visitor facilities.

No amount of rebuilding or renovation could hide the fact that it wasn't capable of functioning in the 21st century and plans for a new stadium were drawn up. Like all new venues the Ricoh Arena was sited outside the city, almost on the limits which meant that a whole new infrastructure could be build around it. The project completely transformed the run down area and included a casino, health club, shopping centre and parking.

Today the stadium regularly plays host to sporting events other than just football and also concerts by people like Bon Jovi and Bryan Adams. There are also plans to build a train station nea women's jackets rby to further improve accessibility.

Emirates Stadium - Arsenal's Highbury Stadium was another of those venues that a new coat of paint and double glazing couldn't fix. Like Highfield Road its location restricted its use and expansion so the new Emirates Stadium was built in Holloway and relocation soon followed.

The new stadium is a shining example of what venues need to be in the 21st century. As well as all the sporting facilities you'd expect it has conference facilities, bars, cafes and leisure facilities. It too has rejuvenated the part of Islington where it now stands.

100 Million And Counting...Is Your Mortgage Website Among Them?

You may have missed the news like me...but, the web just passed a mammoth milestone. "There are now 100 million Web sites with domain names and content on them," according to Rich Miller of Netcraft, an Internet monitoring company.

Netcraft uses the domain name system to identify Web sites, check how many of them are in a particular location, which operating system and Web server software they're running, and then publishes its information in a monthly report. There were just 18,000 Web sites when Netcraft, began keeping track in August of 1995. It took until May of 2004 to reach the 50 million milestone; then only 30 more months to hit 100 million, late in the month of October 2006.

The top five nations with the most web sites are: (1) United States: 54,641,322, (2) Germany women's coats : 15,029,978, (3) United Kingdom: 6,189,578, (4) Canada: 2,812,669, and (5) France: 2,550,717. The United States, Germany, China, South Korea and Japan show the greatest Web site growth.

Why this tremendous growth? "There have been price wars going on in both the domain name and Web hosting industries for some time now, and as a result it's very affordable to create your own Web site, and the tools, the software being offered by these companies are much better," said Miller.

But most importantly is the realization that the Internet now provides new and interesting ways of socially bonding and belonging to a group...something that all of us need. Today, you can share a photo, or a video, or a story, or a joke, or an auction, and even find a mate, by belonging to a group. And, the sharing can take place across vast oceans and large continents in a matter of moments. You don't have to be next door or down the street any longer.

It's way too early to tell if your personal URL will replace your Social Security Number and your legal name, but some celebrities are already planning for the new future. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have already registered domains for all three of their children.

Fueling this change is the use of broadband and the information that it can bring. Now, the computer is always on and the information is always there. Ten short years ago you had to call the bank to get your checking account balance, or visit the bank in person, or wait for your statement to arrive in the mail. Ten years ago baseball box scores and weather forecasts were found in the newspaper or on TV. Now, information is updated and delivered immediately to your computer or a myriad of other hand-held devices of your choosing.

It's just not box scores and weather that people want. People are becoming familiar with the availability of good content and information that they can readily access, consume online, and respond to immediately. They are now having more of their needs filled, whether it's travel, shopping, or all of the other activities that didn't exist to the same degree in the early days of the Web.

Today, individuals and businesses are beginning to recognize that a Web site is the ultimate identifier. As a Mortgage Professional you need to realize quickly the importance of this revelation and set-up your own personal Web site. It isn't good enough to ride in on the coat tails of your employer, or your mortgage broker. You need to establish your personal identity and do it now.

Your personal Web site will give you an opportunity to showcase both your mortgage information and your expertise. It is the perfect platform to express your views, take-a-stand, and state your opinion. It will also be your guarantee that you'll still be participating in the Mortgage Business in the years to come.

Water Damage Hazards Can Be Prevented

Water damage is any damage done by water like floods, but could also be a domestic crisis. This could result in wetness or dampness of a room or particular items that helps the growth of moisture-related mold and mildew that are toxic and bring reactions such as immune disorders. Molds can also cause allergic reactions like headaches, dizziness, nausea, diarrhea, chronic asthma, open sores, rashes and other skin allergies.

Water damage can bring about molds which are microscopic organisms that produce enzymes and digest organic matter to reproduce spores. Once the mold has settled in your home due to water damage, it would need moisture to begin growing.

To control mold, control the moisture indoors and prevent the harm that may be inflicted on your family. Check if there are hidden water leaks at home. It is always possible that you have one in your house.

In bathroom and kitchen, follow these simple steps:

1. Turn off all appliances that use water, and then check your water meter. After leaving it off for an hour, check again the water meter to see if the reading has changed. If the water meter reading changed fashion coats online then it is possible that there's a leak. Refrigerators or freezers are the household appliances that may usually harbor some form of water damage.

2. Check underneath your dishwasher to see if the water pipes are not leaking. Next is the sink area under and on top of the counter.

3. In the bathroom, soft spots in the floors near the tub or shower, or any discoloration could signify that your tub or shower contains leaks. Of course, don't forget to examine the toilet bowl as well.

4. Water damage may also be caused by a clog in your sink or bathroom. Most clogged drains can be easily cleared off by using items commonly found in the house such as a long stick or an unused piece of pipe. Better yet, use a declogging solution.

Here are the dos' and don'ts when applying water damage restoration:

Do's

*Remove the source of water leak if your capability permits. If not, have a professional do it. Remove the water which accumulated by mopping and blotting or sweeping it off.

* Keep the draperies off the wet carpet, by looping the bottom through a coat hanger, and placing the hanger on the drapery rod. Afterwards, remove wet area rugs or other floor coverings. Then, gather all wet fabrics and have them cleaned and dried thoroughly.

* Open all furniture drawers, closet doors, and luggage for better ventilation.

* Photos, paintings, and other art objects must be moved to a safe and dry place.

* Place damp books from shelves to a dry area; then spread them out to dry to avoid mold and mildew's growth.

Don'ts

* Never use an ordinary household vacuum to remove water.

* Using electrical appliances while standing on wet carpet or wet floors may pose a danger of electrocution.

* Especially when you are not yet sure of the status of electricity, avoid going into rooms with standing water.

* Lifting carpet without professional help is also a no-no because doing so incorrectly could cause shrinkage.

When it comes to water damage, what you don't know can hurt you. So there are many pointers given above for handling water damage and taking adequate care to avoid the risks that water damage can bring to you and your family.

Miniature Pinscher And Some Interesting Facts You Should Know

Many people who are shopping for a small dog do not want a dog that is a purse dog, or a dog that is carried around a pampered. Perhaps you are seeking a small dog because you have a small home, yet you want a dog with some spunk. If you are looking for a little dog with a big attitude, then a Miniature Pinscher might be the right kind of dog for you.

As with any breed, however, you should know something about these dogs before you purchase one. No matter how cute they are, Miniature Pinschers are not for everyone! First, many people mistakenly assume that the Miniature Pinscher is a small version of a Doberman Pinscher. While these dogs do resemble Dobermans, they are not the same breed. These dogs are called Pinschers simply because of the way they hunt. In German pinscher means biter, and these little dogs will jump on and bite their prey when hunting. Of course, if the dogs are not well trained, you might just become their prey. Which brings up another interesting point about the breed. Miniature Pinschers require disciplined training if they are going to be good pets. These dogs have an inherently large supply of energy and can be ferocious when provoked.

Miniature Pinschers are best trained through firm, persistent, and calm training methods. The most important things to teach your new dog are how to come when called, how to walk on a leash, and how to stand still on a table, as they will need to do this at the vet's office. Part of what makes it so essential to train these dogs is the breed's temperament. The breed standard describes the temperament as having a fearless animation, complete self-possession, and spirited presence. This sounds quite engaging, but to those who do not know the dog's temperament before purchasing one, this definition can lead to disaster. See, many people purchase small dogs because they want a lap dog.

The Miniature Pinscher is no lap dog. In fact, if you pamper these pooches, they will become domineering tyrants in your home. These dogs are amazing escape artists! They can get out of just about any confined space, so it is essential that the owner has a room in the home where the dog can be confined when not under supervision. This room should be free of small objects that the dog could choke on. These dogs should not be allowed outside without supervision, as they can easily escape from just about any fenced yard. Miniature Pinschers may seem like a good dog for children because of their small size, they cannot withstand the roughness that small children tend to dish out. The breed is particularly hardy, but these dogs have tiny bones that can fracture if they are handled too roughly.

They usually get along fine with older children, however. Beyond that, though, the dogs have few inherited psychical problems. The Miniature Pinscher's coat requires little care, and the dog should not be bathed too often as this can dry the skin. Yes, Miniature Pinschers can be a handful to care women's jackets for and train, but most owners will say that the joy they receive from their tiny dogs far outweighs any inconvenience that comes from the high energy levels. These dogs are natural comedians. If you want a companion that will constantly entertain you with his interactions with the world around him, then give serious consideration to owning a Miniature Pinscher. These dogs are incredibly curious and need plenty of activity in their lives.

If you do not keep them active, they will find a way to stay active, often to the degradation of your favorite plant, socks, or piece of furniture. However, if you live an active life and have time for a fun-loving little dog, then a Miniature Pinscher is a good option for you!

Pet Health Issue: Young Pets, Overweight Pets, and Older Pets, During the Summer

The statistics of pet ownership has been climbing for years. Every day many more people go out and become new pet owners, and some of us have had pets longer then some jobs or even marriages. Regardless of how long you have had your pet, you will have to deal with at least two of the issues I am about to address, that of summer health issues and the age or weight of your pets.

At present we have 4 dogs being take care of at our small kennel. Recently we acquired two new German Shepherd puppies, both are now just over 3 months old, and we are caring for two older German shepherds, one at age 8 and the other at age 13.

Like humans, age and conditioning play an important part of our activities during the summer months. Regrettably we often fail to notice the effects that summer has on our four legged friends.

Pets do not have the same ability to cool down as you and I do. When it is excessively hot, like it can be during the summer months, we can sit in front of a fan, grab a cold soda, or crank up the air conditioners. But your pet must pant and pant until his body temperature is regulated. Even in an air conditioned room, your pet can be too hot if you have been outside running them around for a while. Remember, it will take considerable more time for him to cool down from his exercise, then it will for you.

To avoid putting your pet's health at serious risk this summer, follow a few simple steps that can make a big difference:

Walk your pets early in the morning or late at night. These times of day are much cooler, and they will appreciate not having the blazing sun on their fur coat. women's coats online

Bring a large water bottle for your pet. Water bottles are not just for you. Get one for your pet. Use one that has a squirt top as they can lick the water out easier, and you will not spill as much.

Take your time walking your pet. If you must walk your pet during the hottest hours, (hey we all have schedules), then make sure you can go at a slow pace. Cut the walk short if you need to and take rest breaks during the walk. Better to walk your dog again later then to overdo it at noon time.

Monitor your pet's health. The more time you spend with your pet, the more you should know about your pet's health condition. Like the four dogs we have, I know the puppies are young, vibrant and healthy. They can walk much longer then the overweight or older dogs. You need to know the limits of the pets you have.

Always consider the weakest pet health link. If you have more then one pet, then make sure you always keep in mind that pet which will have the highest risk factors. The overweight German shepherd is a far greater risk factor in the summer then the older, but lighter dog. Even though she is an older dog, she is not lugging around extra fat.

Keeping your pet healthy during the summer is not hard at all. Simply keep in mind that they are much like us in some regards. They want to relax, have a cool drink and perhaps a dip in the pool. If you are going to walk them, and you should, just make sure that they can handle it as well as you can. Take your time, let them rest, give then a nice treat of some ice cubes when you're done. They will love you for the walk, and love you more for caring enough not to put them in harms way.

Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen Puppy And Dog Information

The Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen is happy, energetic smaller dog that makes a great watch dog. They can be kept in an apartment as long as they can be walked for exercise. A properly fenced in yard is best for exercise but they are diggers and known as escape artists. Never leave them off the leash as they will take off after an interesting scent. They generally like other animals and will socialize with them. They also like children. As a reminder, never leave a child unsupervised with a puppy or dog.

*Approximate Adult Size. The approximate adult size (two years old or older) of the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen is 13 to 15 inches to the withers (highest point of the shoulder) and 31 to 40 pounds.

Women’s Shoes – Why they are never enough?

All talks on equality between men and women come to a halt when it comes to women鈥檚 shoes. There seems to be some sort of intrinsic magnetic attraction between a woman and shoes. Perhaps it鈥檚 the reason why most women find an irresistible urge to buy that enticing pair of shoes in the display window without considering the price, consequences or outfit she鈥檒l wear with them. The urge to buy fashionable shoes is so strong in women, that many don鈥檛 even care if they need the shoes or not and whether they are in their budget. They simply find ultimate solace in buying the most fashionable and trendiest pair of shoes in town!

'I see a pair of shoes I adore, and it doesn't matter if they have them in my size. I buy them anyway,' Hollywood actress Keira Knightley once said.

Introduction on womens shoes
Women鈥檚 shoes have progressed form being merely practical and protective coverings for the feet to creative and artistic interpretations of fashions, cultures and styles. A woman鈥檚 shoes also denote the class she belongs to, her attitude, her mood for the day and in a very subtle manner, they convey sexual messages to members of the opposite sex.

With so much emphasis on shoes and such an intense bond between a woman and her heels, it鈥檚 only expected that no shop is passed without being scanned or any websites are left without being trawled by most women, with a similar and unspoken aim of buying the most fashionable and perfect pair of shoes or high heels possible.

How women鈥檚 shoes fashion/style has changed over the years:
The first shoes ever made have been dated back to about 40,000 years ago according to historians. Of course we can safely assume they didn鈥檛 look anything like the heels you saw on the high street last week, but they were shoes none the less. 40 000 years ago, shoes were merely a means of protection for the foot and were completely practical. By the middle Ages, the look and the feel of the shoes improved (according to our perception of what good shoes look like) and they were made with more care and designed to fit the foot more comfortably. Technological advancements of the 20th century led to the development of better shoes in general and more aesthetic women鈥檚 shoes, in particular. A mix of cultures and a global trend of sharing styles and designs began which led to the onset of shoe fashion and the shoe industry.

A significant reason for the change in style of women鈥檚 shoes over the years is the gradual transformation in the purpose of wearing shoes. Changes in the social, cultural and economic milieu of the society and civilization has led to the steady change in the purpose of being well-shod from just protection, to functionality and practicality, to mix of style and sensibility, to style statement, sex appeal and simply shock value as depicted in celebrity women鈥檚 shoes today.

Types of women shoes:
There is a huge variety of tremendously beautiful women鈥檚 shoes in today. Of all the types of women鈥檚 shoes, high heel shoes can righteously be called the most stylish, sensational and popular type of womens shoes. With a heel height ranging from 2 inches to a whopping 8 inches, high heel shoes are considered the ultimate in sex appeal when it comes to women鈥檚 shoes. Owing to the popularity of high heels, shoe designers have created various types of heels such as dagger-like stiletto heels, wedge heels, stacked heels and low heels, kitten heel shoes etc. The other popular types of women鈥檚 shoes include sandals, mules, ankle boots, the fetish thigh-high boots, backless mules, athletic style sneaker boots, ankle-strap shoes, pumps etc.

The types of women鈥檚 shoes can also be categorized according to the purpose of the shoes. For example you can buy smarter, dress shoes for a party, more sturdy and stable work shoes, dance shoes, platform shoes, boots, unisex athletic shoes, comfortable orthopedic shoes and slippers for those cold winter mornings.

Why women love to buy shoes?
Women鈥檚 shoes have lot of sexual connotations. When they buy a new pair of shoes, women secretly desire to catch the attention of the opposite sex women's coats or at least look better than the girl standing next to her (although few will admit it). Since variety is the spice of life, a great way to keep the guys at your finger tips is to make sure you head out in show stopping, flamboyant heels every time you leave the house.

Unlike clothes, women can buy any shoes that their heart desires without being left feeling overweight, too skinny, ugly, etc. Shoes don鈥檛 give women a complex like some fashions do. They鈥檒l never make you feel tall or short either. A beautiful pair of shoes is always likely to compliment a woman. Moreover, the right pair of women鈥檚 shoes has the capability of making her feel sexy, elegant and gorgeous.

With the constant changes in society and the general evolution of social rights,

Women have taken a far more authoritative, opinionated and equal stance than they used to. With status and equity, women have a new found power that pushes them to be different, to be the best they can be. Because of this, they want shoes that fit best with any and every type of outfit, occasion and event that they attend. Further, they do not at all wish to look mundane by wearing the same shoes every time and rather want their shoes to represent their attitude and power.

How To Care For Your Beagle Dog's Coat

The exact origin of the breed of dog known as the beagle is unknown but it is thought that this sturdy breed descended from a blend of various English hunting dogs. The breed was registered with the American Kennel Club (AKC) in 1885. Since that time the beagle has gained popularity not just for its hunting ability, but also for its appeal as a family pet. Beagles are pack animals to the extreme and view a human family as their pack. They become very lonely and distressed when left for long periods of time.

Their intense sociability is just one of their positive aspects. Beagles have an excellent sense of smell as well as a friendly temperament. Beagles are also attractive physically; they are short haired, with a sturdy body structure, and brown eyes with a characteristically sad expression. Beagles come in various colors (and all are accepted in competition by the AKC) but they are most often represented in the tri-colored shades of black/white/tan.

Because of their short, easy to manage fur, grooming your beagle is a fairly easy task. A yearly bath and occasional dry shampoo is enough to keep these small d women's coats ogs clean. The AKC and other beagle experts recommend several grooming techniques for this affable breed.

Grooming your beagle can include everything from brushing his fur to trimming his toes and even eyelashes. Grooming is a way to care for your beagle's appearance and maintain his overall health. Whether you choose to groom your beagle at home or take him to a veterinarian's office or pet groomer, it is important to know the areas specific to your beagle that require special attention. The ears, feet, and eyes along with the coat need consistent grooming. The long, pendulous ears are prone to infection as water and bacteria can easily become trapped inside. The nails may require more or less trimming depending on your dog's activity level. Beagle eyes need special care because their long eyelashes may become ingrown.

If you do not feel comfortable grooming your beagle, there are many pet groomers available to maintain your dog's appearance. They can handle, in particular, tricky areas like trimming your beagle's nails. Services are relatively reasonable. A "puppy package" may include a puppy wash, brush, nail trim, and style and costs approximately $10-$60.

Grooming your beagle involves several guidelines. Because beagles have long, pendulous ears, these can be prone to infection due to water or bacteria becoming trapped inside. Check your beagle's ears at least once per week to make they are clean and free of infection. A good rule of thumb is to wipe his ears whenever he is being brushed.

Your beagle's nails need to be trimmed regularly just like any other dog breed. There is no set frequency for when nails should be trimmed since length depends on your beagle's activity level. If you can hear his nails clicking on the floor it is probably a good time for trimming. If you choose to trim your beagle's nails, use a quality nail clipper and make sure to have a special powder or cream to stop bleeding of any accidental cuts.

Because beagles have longer eyelashes than other dogs, eyelashes need to be monitored and carefully trimmed. An ingrown eyelash will be very uncomfortable for your beagle and will require surgery to correct.

Remember that to care for his coat, brush him at least once weekly. Beagles rarely need to be bathed but can be dry-shampooed occasionally.

How much are your parents or other relatives and family members willing to contribute in cash or in service (e.g. making custom IV cards)? How much can you borrow on credit cards/loans not to put too much a strain on your mutual finances (nothing more than ?2000)? You might be able to re-mortgage your house if you have one, but this should be a last resort because it also takes time and effort for it to come through.
